In Travel I have been focusing for mostly on the bodies capacity to convey emotions.

After working intensively in the conventional theatre spaces with light and scenography I wanted to make a piece where the dancers  would be experienced by the audience in a more simple and direct manner. Each space it is performed gives a new setting to the piece and starts to “live” with it. More without the usual theatrical setting where the light design and scenography are important. Travel is a choreography which is playing with the bodily and narrative connections of the body.

It has two part, the first is a solo for myself “ Une petite histoire de C”  and the second part is a duet “ Marienbad”  for Riina Huhtanen and Mickaël Stoeckel.

 Liisa Pentti (b. 1958) is one of the central choreographers of Finnish contemporary dance. She graduated from SNDO, Amsterdam, in 1986. She has worked in the Finnish dance scene as a dancer, choreographer and teacher since 1987. In 2000 she formed her own dance company Liisa Pentti + Co. Pentti has taught contact improvisation since 1981 and she has also studied release and Alexander techniques and t'ai chi.
